Living in Middletown

Our residents work hard, but they have fun, too. Middletown is no sleepy New England village.
It's a lively city with lots to offer.

Named one of the nation's five "Most Romantic Main Streets," downtown Middletown offers everything you could ask for, all just steps from the hospital. If you like dining out, Main Street's 40 international restaurants and bakeries is often referred to as "Connecticut's Restaurant Row." You can also spend hours browsing over 40 specialty shops.

Middletown is also home to nationally acclaimed Wesleyan University. Located just two blocks off the hospital campus, Wesleyan offers all the cultural opportunities of a college town, and adds its own character to the town mix.

Our residents are big fans of the outdoors, and Middletown provides ample opportunities to get active. The surrounding forests provide wonderful trails for running and mountain biking. River sports such as boating, sailing, wind-surfing, rowing and fishing are popular. There's also skiing, snowboarding, swimming, golf, and tennis. Middlesex County's quiet, winding country roads are popular with cyclists. Both hiking and beaches are less than 20 minutes away.  Concert venues and minor league baseball and hockey are also nearby.
